Publications
One of the stated goals of SKD is to "Foster all aspects of the discipline of English, including literature, language, and writing." As a result, we're active in multiple publications.
Wingspan

SKD members are heavily involved in all aspects of Jeff State's literary arts magazine,
Wingspan - we deal with the solicitation of submissions, we submit our works, and edit the magazine.

A little bit of information on the magazine, from Jeff State's website:

"Wingspan is the literary and arts magazine published each year by Jefferson State Community College, usually appearing in the Fall semester. Our mission is to bring together a range of poetry, prose, art and photography to produce a magazine that reflects the work and interests of both our college community and the communities we serve."

We accept submissions from students, faculty, staff, and community members all year long. Written work should be sent in MS Word, and art/photography should be sent as jpeg files, to the editor at kboyer@jeffersonstate.edu.

We encourage everyone who has an interest in literature and the arts to send us his or her work. Each person whose work is chosen to appear in the magazine is given two free copies of the bound, printed version and invited to read at the Spring semester reading, following the publication. Hard copies are available at campus libraries, and an electronic version is also available by clicking on the link below.
Hedera helix

Hedera Helix is Sigma Kappa Delta's national literary magazine, published annually. We are proud to say that our members have been published here, a tradition that we intend to continue. Hedera helix can be found on SKD's national website.

SKD Newsletter

We also maintain our own newsletter, which we use to report our projects and events to members and the community, as well as to share information regarding the art of writing. This also gives our membership experience with aspects of journalism, helping to prepare them for language related careers.
